I'm Louise and I founded dot:pi to make powerful reporting available to everyone. I have a passion for accounting, data analytics and process efficiency. Beautiful efficient reporting no longer needs to come at a high cost and should be available to any business, any size.
And where does the name come from??
It comes from each time I missed the keyboard when signing off my emails as "Lou".. .One key to the left and it becomes ":pi".
I bring over 15 years' experience working at the intersection of finance, data, systems and business operations. From project accounting through to Finance Director.
Throughout my career, I've worked across a diverse range of sectors including renewable energy, manufacturing, leisure, property management and haulage, giving me a broad understanding of the different challenges businesses face as they grow and evolve. I've led system implementations, managed complex projects, supported businesses through due diligence and sales processes, and run tender processes from start to finish.
I’m particularly interested in the problems that sit outside the scope of traditional accountancy. I’ve investigated complex financial discrepancies, reconstructed accounts and uncovered £120,000 of funds that had been lost within the ledgers. (Resulting in the successfull reovery from clients).
I’ve built structured reconciliations to establish where numbers have gone wrong, developed financial models to support decision-making and transformed manual reporting processes into more efficient, automated solutions.
My experience also extends beyond finance. I have designed and built applications and websites incorporating SQL databases, data structures and business logic — giving me a practical understanding of how data moves through systems, not just how it appears in a spreadsheet.
I understand the numbers, but I also understand the data behind them, the systems that produce them and the operational processes that sit around them. This means I can look at a problem from multiple angles and find practical solutions that connect finance, data and the wider business.

There is a disconnect between a world where all of our reporting can be run seamlessly by AI and the reality of manually stitching together 5 spreadheets every month-end. We aim to bridge that gap. And end the days where only large enterprises can afford bespoke software to complement their processes. With the right tools, powerful reporting is not costly and time consuming. We believe that your data is your greatest asset and informer and should work with you and not against you. Dashboards and reports don't have to be expensive and costly - you can do more with a spreadsheet than you can imagine! We offer solutions using Excel, Tableau, Power-BI and Python.
The Dream
The dream started over 10 years ago after presenting at a head-office board meeting. As there were no hot-desks I stayed in the board room during the subsequent meeting between a CFO, CEO and a consultant who was pitching expensive mapping software. Listening the the CEO and CFO I understood their problem and what they wanted to visualise. That night, I created an interactive map dahboard in Excel. No additional cost, no additional software. No macros (if you know, you know).
I realised then that no one understood the scope of what our existing tools can do.
We don't want to sell you any software you can't afford. We want to ensure you use your tools and budget to their full potential whether thats a spreadsheet, BI reporting suite or bespoke web-based software.
